For the upcoming 2022 Club Season, Our team selections will be different from the past.

  1. We will be sending out Early Commitment offers for players who played with us last season.
  2. We are also offering the ability to apply for a position on one of our teams. Offers will be made to successful applicants.
  3. If needed, we will conduct tryouts in late December 2022 or early January 2023

We have posted an online application for athletes who are certain they would like to play in our programs.

  • What does this mean?
    • All athletes who have not played for BC Youth Volleyball are welcome to complete an application for a position on one of our club teams. This application will include the completion of an application form, skills assessment, and possible match footage assessment.
  • Why do we do this?
    • “Talent may win games, but teamwork and intelligence builds champions.” Strong team players are the backbone of any team. When others fail, these are the people who venture on with strong resolve and persistence, committed to getting the job done.

For us, it’s simple. We want to continue the development of athletes who want to want to play for us. We are not interested in the formation of a group of individuals who may possess some advanced volleyball skill, but are not team players, or who may have their own agendas.

We continually prove that we are able to develop players and teams.

Character, Personality, Respect, Always reliable, ability to Communicate with Confidence, Selfless, Adaptable, and displays Genuine Commitment, are all qualities that we look for in athletes we train.

Volleyball…. We can teach, however, a mindset focussed on team before self, and process over results is what we will focus on.

Our plan for the 2023 Season is to run the following teams:

Our High Performance teams
BC Selects
These teams will likely practice 2 times per week and will compete in approximately six Club events being played on a Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday.
These teams will also look to participate in College and University Hosted events.
Max 10-12 players per team

Our Competitive Development teams
Synergy Selects
These teams will likely practice once a week and will compete in approximately two Club playdays being played on a Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday.
Max 10 players per team.

EARLY COMMITMENT
Any player who played for BC Youth Volleyball last year is able to commit to playing with us again this year. The Early Commitment process will be available until October November 15, 2022.

To accept an Early Commitment position, former athletes must complete the Early Commitment form found at the following link:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMLJdxVmVG5YA6G1hRxnSF5MFTfbmWf6YpYJURzWnNd3o89Q/viewform?usp=sf_link

Please understand that completing the Early Commitment Offer is accepting a position with one of our teams. Withdrawals will not be permitted. We have worked very hard to ensure that we will have a pathway to meaningful training and competition. It is expected that the number of positions in club volleyball in general will be very limited. By applying for an Early Commitment position, you are securing a position for yourself, but also preventing others from being able to claim a position. We expect to be full with a waitlist very quickly.

Please make sure you have read, understood, and can agree to our policies.

Both policies can be found at the following links:

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR NEW ATHLETES
We are also setting up an Athlete application process for athletes who have not played with BC Youth Volleyball or one of its programs in the past
We are providing an online application for athletes who are certain they would like to play in our programs. The online application can be found here:

What does this mean?
All athletes who have not played for BC Youth Volleyball are welcome to complete an application for a position on one of our club teams. This application will include the completion of an application form, skills assessment, and possible match footage assessment.

Why do we do this?
“Talent may win games, but teamwork and intelligence builds champions.” Strong team players are the backbone of any team.

TEAM FORMATION
Once the Early Commitments have been processed, we will go over the applications to complete teams based on needs.

Please remember that we will only form:
BC Selects teams will be picked with a max of 10 players per team.
Synergy Selects teams will be picked with a max of 10 players per team.

COST
We are unable to provide a final cost as we are still working through budgets at this time. However, anticipated costs for our teams are as follows. We will be trying to work on all budgets based on the amounts below. Regardless of whether we are able to secure our own facility or not, we will not be increasing cost. :

BC Selects Teams - approximately $1000-1200 for likely 110 hours of training and competition
Synergy Selects Teams - approximately $700-800 for likely 90 hours of training and competition

Please understand that our costs are based on smaller groups. For example, if a team has a cost of $1000 and is made up of 10 players, the cost for the team is $10,000 for the season. The same $10,000 team cost for a team with 12 players is $833/player. While the cost may be cheaper, the ability for players to play in events will be very limited.

We will be setting up a monthly payment option to help with spreading the cost of programming over the season.

A deposit of $300 will be collected at the time of confirmation of a position on one of our teams.
Monthly Instalments for balance of fees:
BC Selects : $TBC payable Jan15, Feb 15, Mar15, and Apr15. A $40 Service fee is included in the payment plan. Total $1040-1240.
Synergy Selects: $TBD payable Jan15, Feb 15, Mar15, and Apr15. A $40 Service fee is included in the payment plan. Total $740-840.

We will keep everyone informed with the latest on these developments.
